TIPS FOR A BETTER WEBSITE SEARCH

The tips below will help you come closer to this goal, both for the keywords you think are important, and for phrases you may not even be anticipating.

Pick Your Target Keywords.

How do you think people will search for your web page? The words you imagine them typing into the search box are your target keywords. For example, say you have a page devoted to stamp collecting. Anytime someone types "stamp collecting," you want your page to be in the top ten results. Accordingly, these are your target keywords for that page. Each page in your web site will have different target keywords that reflect the page's content.
For example, say you have another page about the history of stamps. Then "stamp history" might be your keywords for that page. Your target keywords should always be at least two or more words long. Usually, too many sites will be relevant for a single word, such as "stamps." This "competition" means your odds of success are lower. Don't waste your time fighting the odds. Pick phrases of two or more words, and you'll have a better shot at success.
The article available to Search Engine Watch members provides additional information about selecting key terms.

Position Your Keywords

Make sure your target keywords appear in the crucial locations on your web pages. The page's HTML title tag is most important. Failure to put target keywords in the title tag is the main reason why perfectly relevant web pages may be poorly ranked.
More about the title tag can be found on the Build your titles around the top two or three phrases that you would like the page to be found for. The titles should be relatively short and attractive. Think of newspaper headlines. With a few words, they make you want to read a story. Similarly, your page titles are like headlines for your pages. They appear in search engine listings, and a short, attractive title may help encourage users to click through to your site.
Search engines also like pages where keywords appear "high" on the page, as described more fully on the page. To accommodate them, use your target keywords for your page headline, if possible. Have them also appear in the first paragraphs of your web page. Keep in mind that tables can "push" your text further down the page, making keywords less relevant because they appear lower on the page. This is because tables break apart when search engines read them.
For example, picture a typical two-column page, where the first column has navigational links, while the second column has the keyword loaded text. Humans see such a page like this: Home Stamp Collecting Page 1 Page 2 Stamp collection is worldwide experience. Page 3 Thousands enjoy it everyday, and millions Page 4 can be made from this hobby/business. Search engines (and those with old browsers) see the page like this:Home Page 1 Page 2 Page 3 Page 4Stamp CollectingStamp collection is worldwide experience. Thousands enjoy it everyday, and millions can be made from this hobby/business.
See how the keywords have moved down the page? There is no easy way around this, other than to simplifying your table structure. Consider how tables might affect your page, but don't necessarily stop using them. I like tables, and I'll continue to use them. Large sections of JavaScript can also have the same effect as tables. The search engine reads this information first, which causes the normal HTML text to appear lower on the page.
Place your script further down on the page, if possible.

Create Relevant Content

Changing your page titles is not necessarily going to help your page do well for your target keywords if the page has nothing to do with the topic.
Your keywords need to be reflected in the page content. In particular, that means you need HTML text on your page.
Sometimes, sites present large sections of copy via graphics. It looks pretty, but search engines can't read those graphics. That means they miss out on text that might make your site more relevant. Some of the search engines will index ALT text and comment information. But to be safe, use HTML text whenever possible. Some of your human visitors will appreciate it, also.
Be sure that your HTML text is "visible." Some designers try to spam search engines by repeating keywords in a tiny font or in the same color as the background color to make the text invisible to browsers. Search engines are well aware of these and other tricks. Expect that if the text is not visible in a browser, then a search engine may not index it.

Finally, consider "expanding" your text references, where appropriate. For example, a stamp collecting page might have references to "collectors" and "collecting." Expanding these references to "stamp collectors" and "stamp collecting" reinforces your strategic keywords in a legitimate and natural manner. Your page really is about stamp collecting, but edits may have reduced its relevancy unintentionally.

Avoid Search Engine Stumbling Blocks

Some search engines see the web the way someone using a very old browser might. They may not read image maps. They may not read frames. You need to anticipate these problems, or a search engine may not index any or all of your web pages.

Create HTML links

Often, designers create only image map links from the home page to inside pages. A search engine that can't follow these links won't be able to get "inside" the site. Unfortunately, the most descriptive, relevant pages are often inside pages rather than the home page.
Solve this problem by adding some HTML hyperlinks to the home page that lead to major inside pages or sections of your web site. This is something that will help some of your human visitors, also. Put these hyperlinks down at the bottom of the page. The search engine will find and follow them.
Also consider creating a site map page with text links to every page within your site. You can submit this page, which will help the search engines locate pages within your web site.
Finally, be sure you do a good job of linking internally between your pages. If you naturally point to different pages from within your site, you increase the odds that search engines will follow links and find more of your web site.

With his fortune swelling to an estimated $53.5 billion, up $18.5 billion in 12 months, Slim surged ahead of Microsoft cofounder Bill Gates, who had held the title of world's richest 14 of the past 15 years, the US business magazine noted.

Gates, now worth $53 billion, is ranked second in the world. He is up $13 billion from a year ago as shares of Microsoft rose 50 percent in 12 months. Buffett's fortune jumped $10 billion to $47 billion on rising shares of Berkshire Hathaway. He ranks third.

Eleven countries have at least double the number of billionaires they had a year ago, including China, India, Turkey and South Korea.

Fourth placed Mukesh Ambani with a fortune of $29 billion has global ambitions, Forbes said. So has his younger brother Anil Ambani ranked 36 with a $13.7 billion fortune.

Azim Premji with a fortune of $17.0 billion was ranked 28. "Software czar chairs $5.5 billion (revenues) Wipro, country's third-largest software exporter. Reported jump in net profits in last 2 quarters, signaling a rebound for US-dependent outsourcing giant."

RECESSION AND PLACEMENT

What is Recession ?

Recession means a temporary decline in the economic prosperity or economy. It is basically a fall of economy and decline in the economic condition for a small period of time . Our world is currently living in the verge of a great economic downfall or we can even consider it as a crises . It has basically effected nearly all the sectors of economy , but majorly it has effected Banking sector .

Reason for recession

..It wasn't just a day mistake which has just put us in front of this huge problem .. Few years ago US economy was increasing at a very faster rate and there was huge boom in real state and housing sector. Since rate was really high it was difficult for a common person to buy an asset for him . So, US lending institutions and mortgage firms came with a new solution of giving loans to non- potential buyers to purchase these asset with a interest rate double than what usually being taken from a potential buyer .So, gradually a huge money got involved in this business as the profit was huge . Finally non - potential buyers were unable to pay the bills and they became the lost entity of the lending institution , they recovered the asset but no one was buying them and finally situation of bankruptcy prevailed in these organization . As these institution is basic structure for nearly all the sectors a state of recession developed in whole US and Europe and gradually reached to Asian countries .

Effect of Recession on Placement in Indian Engineering colleges

Now if we think about the placement scenario of Indian Engineering colleges we should look at recession according to India's prospective . Since very few Indian banks or organization were involved in this type of practice so in this prospective , recession does not have much effect on Indian economy . But since Indian IT sector is partially being flourished by US economy and lending institution , we can't neglect it's devastating effect on Indian IT sector .
The effect is clear as top hiring IT companies has clearly stated that they will go slow on campus hiring. Most likely every college would see a decline in there placement this year. IIT's has already hit the blow and IIT Pawai has recorded only 53 % Placement this year , but yeah the fact is that actually many people opted for higher studies rather than doing a job during recession. So , Conclusion is this that even people would be getting placed during campus placement there will be a huge decline qualitatively as well as quantitatively . People should try some new options or new tactics which they have presently in this tough time . People can either go for Higher studies like MBA , MS form foreign studies , but the scholarship amount has also been reduced since the time of recession in US based Universities . People can go for their own start-ups or anything like this . But the fact is that if you get a job now, even it is below your standard , don't loose it , because as recession is a temporary condition you would be much better than the people who are not opting for job , after this temporary time get over if you would be continuing the job till that time . According to the news since Indian government and even US government is trying to raise the conditions of the financial institutions or organization, this time won't last for much . I am hoping that this time soon get over so that we can again see the flourishing economic time and better placement.

Preparing for a Successful Negotiation

Preparing for a Successful Negotiation

Depending on the scale of the disagreement, some preparation may be appropriate for conducting a successful negotiation.
For small disagreements, excessive preparation can be counter-productive because it takes time that is better used elsewhere. It can also be seen as manipulative because, just as it strengthens your position, it can weaken the other person’s.
However, if you need to resolve a major disagreement, then make sure you prepare thoroughly. think through the following points before you start negotiating:
Goals:
what do you want to get out of the negotiation? What do you think the other person wants?
Trades:
What do you and the other person have that you can trade? What do you each have that the other wants? What are you each comfortable giving away?
Alternatives:
if you don’t reach agreement with the other person, what alternatives do you have? Are these good or bad? How much does it matter if you do not reach agreement? Does failure to reach an agreement cut you out of future opportunities? And what alternatives might the other person have?
Relationships:
what is the history of the relationship? Could or should this history impact the negotiation? Will there be any hidden issues that may influence the negotiation? How will you handle these?
Expected outcomes: what outcome will people be expecting from this negotiation? What has the outcome been in the past, and what precedents have been set?
The consequences:
what are the consequences for you of winning or losing this negotiation? What are the consequences for the other person?
Power:
who has what power in the relationship? Who controls resources? Who stands to lose the most if agreement isn’t reached? What power does the other person have to deliver what you hope for?
Possible solutions: based on all of the considerations, what possible compromises might there be?
Negotiating successfully…
The negotiation itself is a careful exploration of your position and the other person’s position, with the goal of finding a mutually acceptable compromise that gives you both as much of what you want as possible. People's positions are rarely as fundamentally opposed as they may initially appear - the other person may have very different goals from the ones you expect! In an ideal situation, you will find that the other person wants what you are prepared to trade, and that you are prepared to give what the other person wants. If this is not the case and one person must give way, then it is fair for this person to try to negotiate some form of compensation for doing so – the scale of this compensation will often depend on the many of the factors we discussed above. Ultimately, both sides should feel comfortable with the final solution if the agreement is to be considered win-win.Only consider win-lose negotiation if you don't need to have an ongoing relationship with the other party as, having lost, they are unlikely to want to work with you again. Equally, you should expect that if they need to fulfill some part of a deal in which you have "won," they may be uncooperative and legalistic about the way they do this.

Seeking Jobs on the Internet

Seeking Jobs on the Internet

In today’s uncertain job market, individuals of all ages and backgrounds are having difficulty finding employment. The truth is, if you know where to look, the jobs have never been better! Instead of hunting through the classified advertisement section of the morning newspaper and circling the jobs of any interest, consider conducting an online search of available jobs in your area.
Many newspapers have put their classified advertisement section on the internet. This allows individuals to directly contact the employing agency’s website and access all necessary information. You can quickly and easily decide if the available job is a fit for you without having to make telephone calls or visit the business directly.
Online job search engines are the perfect opportunity for anyone looking a job. The majority of these websites allow you to post a free resume for potential employers to review. If an employer sees something he or she likes, that employer will contact your directly. These sites serve as a headhunter agency without any fees required.
Additionally, you can access these internet based job search engines in order to find the job that best suits you. There are thousands of jobs on these websites, each one waiting patiently to be filled by someone with your expertise. You can contact these employing agencies directly and find out the specific process for potential employment. Usually, any necessary forms are available online.
Freelancing is another option that you can explore with so many websites on the Internet on a lookout for qualified people. The websites on the internet prove to be resources of immense importance as they help you kickstart your work as a freelancer and supplement your income. So whatever the reason you want to build up funds, this sure is an option worth a look.
Craiglist.org is a useful website for not only finding some great deals on furniture, tickets, automobiles and real estate but also has a classified section for employment. Thus chances are that you might just hit the jackpot by getting a perfect job on this website.
The very first step to begin the online job search is to have a well-revised and updated resume. The reason behind this is that all potential recruiters look for the best-written resumes. These days apart from having a paper copy you can also email the resume to the recruiters for that particular job.
Whereas landing with a job in the past was no less than an arduous journey due to the fact that the potential employees had to scout a lot in order to come across any good opportunity. However, this generation has it easy with the jobs proverbially, "Just a click away." Looking out for a job just means settling in front of the PC at your home and browsing through that job waiting for you. So, show the way out to that old classified advertisement section!!

Tips for Private Placement Brokers

10 Tips for Private Placement Brokers

1. Define your Goals: You will always be more successful if you create goals, and have plans on how to attain them. Though this is a very basic concept, most private placement brokers simply “wing it”, expecting to close the deal of a lifetime. If you are organized and well spoken on the phone, clearly stating your goals, most brokers will “pass you along” to the next person without hesitation, or tell you they can’t help from the beginning.

2. Education is Everything: If you are NOT educated in the fine details of private placement, you will NEVER be able to know what is real. In addition, if you are improperly educated, you could easily meet one of the few traders in the world, and not even know it. Whether you are an investor or broker, education is the key to determining which brokers are wasting your time, and which may be on to something. If you call brokers out with the facts and get straight to the point, they will part like the “Red Sea”, and you will eventually be DIRECT with a “trader”.

3. Find a Trader you Believe In:
If you are promoting a private placement program that you don’t truly believe in, you are wasting your time. People can sense confidence and shakiness over the phone, and in the private placement world, that is your main method of communication. Do yourself a favor and don’t try to put deals together until you are completely sure that you are representing something, or someone that is real. Once you find someone you truly believe in, and you emit that confidence to other brokers in the private placement world, you will usually get places much quicker.

4. Be Confident and Calm: As we have said before, all you really have in the private placement business is your ability to communicate effectively over the phone. If you are educated, calm, collected, and confident, you will be far more efficient in your private placement efforts than someone without these characteristics. Despite the fact that this approach is far more effective in gaining a favorable response from other brokers, most brokers you will meet are anxious, undereducated, and living on a prayer. Define yourself, your knowledge base, and your confidence first, and you will be direct to a real program before you know it.

5. Creative Networking is a MUST: The most common way for private placement investors and brokers to meet is via the Internet. Whether you search through investment discussion forums, or other similar sites, private placement websites can be very limiting unless you get creative. Though this may be a good place to start, it will NOT lead you to your dream of riches. To be effective, you must use a far more aggressive approach that focuses on contacting everyone in the private placement business at once (hint: email spiders), with a goal of establishing a large contact base to network within. Once you establish a large network, and gain some experience, you can start to develop relationships with the select few individuals that you feel are real, and start to put deals together. Remember, if you network aggressively, you should always have leads to work with 24/7.

6. Organize and Follow Up : What good are leads if you don’t assess and extract the full potential from them? When you meet a new private placement broker, investor, or trader, always note their contact information, and what your gut feeling is on them. Also, it can help.

Integrating The Keyword

The keywords should be integrated into the following parts of your website...

1. Title

Each webpage should contain a distinct and relevant title. Incorporate the keywords into the webpage's title tag.

2. Description

Each page on website should also contain a unique description. The "meta" data, which is located in the header of the webpage, is often used by search engines to assess the relevance and topic of a specific page.

3. Body Of Web Page

The body of the webpage should also include the keywords. The words should appear naturally, and the readability of the text should never be compromised in an effort to include the keywords.

4. Anchor Text

Anchor text is the text that is used to link to a page. The "clickable" words that are hyper-linked to the page are called the anchor text. Search engines evaluate the words people use to link to your website, because they usually provide a context for the page being linked to.

5. H1 Tags

H1 tags, which are used in HTML to emphasize a topic or sub-topic, are often weighted heavier than normal text on a webpage. Using keywords in the H1 field may boost your ranking for that specific keyword.

6. Name Of Web Page

The domain and URL of a webpage can also help influence search engine ranking. Integrating keywords or hyphenated keyword phrases into the URL of a webpage may also help a page rank well in search engines for those key phrases.

7. More May Be Better

Keep in mind that studies show that the average number of words used in a search query is 2.57, so do not be afraid to integrate keyword "phrases" rather than individual keywords, since phrases tend to be more popular than single-word searches.

Keyword positioning plays a small but very important part in the search engine optimization process. Learn how to effectively use keywords to your website's advantage. Keyword usage and optimization will help a webpage rank better in organic search results. Use relevant keyword phrases that will boost your search rankings.
